Joni is now two!!

We had a very busy weekend, but well worth it. On Friday my baby girl turned two, still can't believe it but it is true. My parents came that day for the weekend and she got to open her presents from mom, dad and Evan on Friday. One of her gifts was a baby cradle that was mine when I was a little girl. Hopefully she will enjoy it as much as I did.

Then Saturday evening was her party. Made way too much food, but everyone enjoyed it. Also the cake I made didn't turned out liked I had planned. I made one of those giant cupcake cakes and the top half got stuck in the mold. Then when I went to ice it, it was so hot in the house that the icing was melting all down the cake. In the long run it really didn't matter, Joni didn't know the difference and it still tasted good. We played a couple of games, which I was hoping to do outside, but this year it was way too chilly for that. We kept talking about last year spending the whole time outside and Joni was running around with no shirt on because it was so warm.

Today we went to the doctor for her two year check-up. She is still right on course. She is now 34 1/2 inches tall and weighs 28 lbs and 8 ounces. This puts her in the 50-75% for height and 75% for weight. He head is still running on the small side, taking after daddy, with 18 1/2" in the 24-50%. She had to get one shot, which she didn't even cry she just said owwwwwww!!!

February 2010

Well it have been an eventful two weeks of February. Evan hasn't been to school yet in the month of February. Feb 1st was a teacher workday then on the 2nd he his adenotonsillectomy. So he was to miss one week of school due to the surgery. Well the 3rd and 5th were snow days.

Then on the 6th we got this record snow storm of 32+ inches, which caused school to be closed on the 8th and 9th. Now there is supposed to be another storm arriving on Tuesday evening into Wednesday bringing another 10+ inches of snow, so school will be closed the rest of the week. So the next day of school, hopefully, will be on the 16th of February. So he will have missed half a month of school, but really only 2 absences.

1st snow of 2010

Well I thought for sure that since I bought Joni some winter boots and found her snow pants that she wasn't going to use them this year, boy was I wrong. We just had a nice little snow that the kids were able to play in. Joni wasn't sure what to think of it. I think she might of had too many clothes on and wasn't able to move very well. She spent more time crawling than walking. She did have a lot of fun in her sled, which she barely fit it. Evan was having a lot of fun making snow angels, he tried to get Joni to do it, but she wouldn't have any of that. Evan is a great big brother always there to help Joni when she needs it.

Evan's 6th Birthday

I can't believe that Evan is already 6 years old. Where has the time gone. He is such a little man now that he is in school. We celebrating his birthday with a Pokemon themed party. His closest friends and family were there and he had a lot of fun, which is what matters.

2009 continued

I am starting a new post because the other one was just fighting with me.

Then it was time for our family to celebrate Christmas at home. This year was so much better than last. It was fun to see both kids enjoying Christmas this time. No one was sick.

We finished out the year at my parents house. We had Christmas with them again this year, however Paul wasn't able to make this time due to weather and no vacation time left. The day we were to leave for NC we had freezing rain so the trip was delayed a day. So we left the day after Christmas instead of Christmas day. My brother and his family came down as well and stayed a couple days. The kids and I stayed through the NEW YEAR!

2009 was a good year, let's hope that 2010 is even better

Finishing out 2009

Well it has been a while since I last wrote. A lot has gone on in the Andrus household. We had a great Thanksgiving at our house again. This year I actually got to do most of it since Joni wasn't hanging all over me. Mom still had to help with a couple of things I didn't know what to do. I just wish I had more space to fix everything, but the warming buffet trays really helped a lot this time, glad I bought that.

Also Evan had his first Thanksgiving concert at school. That was a lot of fun and glad I was able to go. Can you see Evan?
Then we moved on to Christmas. We had a lot of Christmas' this year since we have some friends we trade with as well. So it started out with the Patton Family. Always have a good time with them, wish they didn't live so far away.
Then it was off to the Carter's house for another great Christmas for the kids.

Next was Christmas with the in-laws. We have always celebrated Christmas on Christmas Eve because that is what they did growing up as well. It works out very nice for our family since my family does it Christmas day, well day after now since my parents moved.
